Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) issued an alert after 10 duly constituted financial institutions registered in SIPRES notified the authority that their corporate identities were being impersonated. The alleged impersonation involves the unauthorized use of names, logos and corporate branding, apparently to defraud or mislead people seeking credit or other financial services through printed and digital channels. CONDUSEF reported receiving the 10 notifications during March 2026 and listed the affected institutions as Baubap, S.A.P.I. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R.; Stewart Title Guaranty de México, S.A. de C.V.; Capifia, S.A.P.I. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R.; Alternativa Financiera para el Desarrollo, S.A. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R.; Confianza Digital, S.A.P.I. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R. (Credilikeme); Compass Investments de México, S.A. de C.V., Sociedad Operadora de Fondos de Inversión; IPC Financiera, S.A. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R.; Genworth Seguros de Crédito a la Vivienda, S.A. de C.V.; Punto Cla B, S.A.P.I. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R.; and Ahora Tú, Más, S.A.P.I. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R. In some cases, the impersonators also used certain tax or administrative details associated with the firms.
