The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP), represented by Director Júlia Normande Lins, took part in the 2nd Brazil–China Financial Cooperation Forum and the 11th meeting of the Brazil–China Economic-Financial Subcommittee, both held in São Paulo on 16–17 September 2025. The engagements centred on bilateral economic and financial cooperation, including the role of insurance and reinsurance in supporting long-term investment. The forum brought together public and private sector representatives from both countries to discuss financial regulation, market opportunities, the use of local currencies, financial market connectivity and mobilising private resources for sustainable finance. Lins participated in a panel on the financial and banking regulatory landscape alongside representatives from Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) and Chinese authorities including the National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA), the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the People’s Bank of China, and underscored that closer insurance and reinsurance cooperation is essential to underpin long-term projects, particularly in infrastructure and industry. The subcommittee meeting covered strategic economic perspectives, bilateral financial development cooperation, sustainable finance and multilateral economic issues, with discussions including insurance and reinsurance, cross-border financial mechanisms and Brazil–China cooperation funds. A recording of the opening of the 2nd Brazil–China Financial Cooperation Forum was made available on the Brazilian Ministry of Finance’s YouTube channel.
