The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) announced that Richard Doornbosch will join its executive board from 1 September 2026, taking responsibility for supervision of audit and financial reporting quality as well as the integrity and resilience of capital markets. The appointment is for four years and fills the vacancy that will arise when Jos Heuvelman steps down in September. Doornbosch has been president of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten since 2020 and has held roles in the Dutch ministries of Finance and of Health, Welfare and Sport, as well as positions at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the International Monetary Fund. From 1 September 2026, the AFM’s executive board will comprise chair Laura van Geest, Hanzo van Beusekom, Marije Lely and Richard Doornbosch.
