The National Bank of Moldova published an update on its delegation’s meetings at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring Meetings, including discussions between Governor Anca Dragu, Finance Minister Andrian Gavriliță and the IMF mission chief for Moldova, Alina Iancu. The talks covered Moldova’s macroeconomic and financial outlook and the authorities’ request to initiate a new three-year IMF programme without a financing component. Discussion topics included the structural reform agenda, monetary policy and anti-inflation measures, as well as the National Bank of Moldova’s governance and banking sector stability. The central bank highlighted that IMF technical assistance for the National Bank of Moldova is expected to support institutional capacity building in key reform areas. The delegation’s programme was set to continue in Washington with meetings with senior IMF officials, as well as World Bank and International Finance Corporation representatives.
