The Insurance Supervision Institute of Mozambique reported that the National Financial Inclusion Committee (CNIF), the coordination body for implementing Mozambique’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2025–2031, held its first working meeting and appointed coordinators and deputy coordinators for seven working groups. The Institute’s head of communications, Agnélio Jossias, was sworn in by the Governor of the Bank of Mozambique, Rogério Zandamela, in his capacity as CNIF President, as coordinator of Working Group 4 on insurance promotion, while the Institute’s board chair, Ester dos Santos José, serves as CNIF Vice-President. CNIF’s mandate includes promoting financial inclusion with a focus on vulnerable groups, aligning efforts with national development policies, coordinating multi-sector work, and encouraging financial innovation and technology-enabled digital financial services and fintechs. At the 15 September meeting, CNIF reviewed a draft operating regulation for the committee and the work plans for the working groups; Working Group 4’s coordinator is tasked with chairing meetings, coordinating activities, overseeing delivery of the agreed plan, coordinating with the ENIF 2025–2031 Technical Implementation Unit, and submitting monthly activity updates by the 10th of the following month.
