The agenda also covered the evolving role of central banks and the challenges and transformations affecting global financial systems, including how the changing international landscape could influence monetary policy. Turnava highlighted the National Bank of Georgia’s current monetary and supervisory practices and noted that they are aligned with European Union standards. Jónsson is in Georgia to attend an international conference marking the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the lari and is scheduled to participate in a high-level panel discussion on how shifts in the global financial system affect monetary policy.
