The Bank of Mauritius issued a public notice cautioning the public after becoming aware that Rogers Capital Credit suffered a data privacy incident in which client data was unlawfully obtained and published on the dark web. The central bank urged individuals to closely monitor their bank accounts and financial statements and to contact their bank immediately if they detect suspicious activity or have doubts about the authenticity of unsolicited communications. Rogers Capital Credit’s assessment indicates the compromised information primarily relates to client records up to December 2022 and may include sensitive personal data such as passport or national identity card details, proof of address and income, and for some clients, banking, credit and civil status information.
