The Central Bank of Latvia has issued a licence to Nexdesk SIA to provide crypto-asset services under the European Union Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), making it the second authorised crypto-asset service provider in Latvia. The authorisation covers custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of customers, execution of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of customers, and transfer services for crypto-assets on behalf of customers. Nexdesk SIA plans to operate in Latvia and in other European Union countries, using MiCA’s mechanism for notifying cross-border activities after authorisation in one Member State. The central bank highlighted that it offers pre-licensing and licensing support, including guidance on the applicable legal framework, required documentation, and an initial assessment of compliance, alongside published guides on authorisation and token issuance and an overview of MiCA crypto-asset classification.
