The Department of Finance (Ireland) announced direct Government support for Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter by funding the independent data partner responsible for collecting and reporting industry data, supporting the continuation of the initiative beyond its 2022–2025 pilot. Funding of up to EUR 50,000 (inclusive of VAT) will support continued research and data gathering for the Charter, which now has 104 signatories representing more than 72,000 employees across Ireland’s financial and insurance sector. The Charter’s latest annual report shows increases in female representation among signatory firms since joining the Charter, including 36.3% at board level (from 30.3%), 43.4% in senior management (from 36.2%), and 22.6% at CEO level (from 19.4%). The Economic and Social Research Institute served as the data partner during the pilot period, funded by industry. A public procurement process is underway to appoint a data partner for the 2026 period. The Department also indicated it will work with stakeholders over the course of 2026 to capture current inclusivity activity and identify gaps for further attention by the sector.
