The Central Bank of Russia has opened a survey asking individuals and businesses to assess their satisfaction with the tools available in the payment market, with the findings intended to inform work with market participants to improve the quality of payment services. For individuals, the questionnaire focuses on the convenience and ease of paying for items such as housing and utility services, food, electric scooter rentals, and penalty payments, and asks respondents to indicate which payment methods they choose, including bank cards, mobile apps, biometrics, QR codes, and e-wallets. Business feedback is intended to identify preferences for accepting cashless payments, gauge satisfaction with the level of fees for different tools, and assess other aspects of payment acceptance. The survey will run from 16 February through 17 March 2026 with the support of industry associations, and results are due to be published in summer 2026.
