The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) has launched a pilot project enabling Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) participants, and firms applying for authorisation or registration in the AIFC, to pay AFSA regulatory fees in USD-pegged stablecoins. Stablecoin payments will be made via AFSA-licensed Digital Asset Service Providers (DASPs) that join the initiative as “Providers” and act as agents for payers. Providers will execute the payment order in stablecoins and remit the equivalent amount in fiat currency to AFSA’s designated bank account. Participation requires signing a Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMoU) with AFSA and meeting AFSA’s eligibility criteria, and AFSA will publish the names of Providers on its website after an MMoU is signed. Bybit Limited became the inaugural MMoU signatory at Astana Finance Days 2025.
