The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reported that its president, Roberto E. Silva, attended the OECD’s 147th Financial Markets Committee meeting and the OECD Financial Markets Week in Paris on 10–12 September, representing Argentina in discussions on global financial market developments and sector digitalisation. The Financial Markets Committee meeting, held on 11–12 September, focused on the evolution of global markets, digitalisation, approaches to engaging non-member countries, and accession-related topics, bringing together regulators, financial authorities and market participants. Sessions during OECD Financial Markets Week covered the role of capital markets in competitiveness and growth, the dual role of institutional investors, sustainable finance, and digital financial innovation including tokenisation and digital markets, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence and distributed ledger technologies. Silva also participated in a roundtable on “Capital markets for competitiveness and growth,” introduced by OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and opened by U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins. The CNV linked its participation to Argentina’s formal OECD accession process, initiated in May 2024, and to alignment with OECD standards on areas including corporate governance.
