The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, in partnership with De La Rue of the United Kingdom, has opened applications for two postgraduate scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic period under the De La Rue Scholarship Programme. The awards are available for study at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, in economics and related specialisations, statistics, mathematics, data science, and artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Each scholarship is worth USD 8,500 and may be held for up to two academic years, with funding intended primarily for tuition, books and materials, and any balance for subsistence. Eligibility is limited to nationals of Trinidad and Tobago who are pursuing a full-time Master of Science degree or are at the final stage of an MPhil or PhD programme in the listed fields. Applicants must hold at least an upper second class honours degree for Master of Science study, or a Master of Science degree with at least a B+ coursework average for MPhil or PhD study, be actively involved in community service, and not be receiving another scholarship, although research assistants, teaching assistants and full-time demonstrators at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine may apply. Selection will include a three to five page essay, an interview by a joint panel, and an assessment of financial need, with priority for applicants demonstrating critical financial need. Applications close on Friday, June 5, 2026. Successful candidates will be required, after completing their studies, to undertake a three month internship at the Central Bank or another public sector institution designated by the Central Bank.
