The Rwanda Capital Markets Authority (CMA), in collaboration with the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) and Rwanda National Investment Trust Ltd (RNIT), held the Capital Market Youth Forum Up-Country Roadshow at INES-Ruhengeri to raise financial literacy and investment awareness among young people and encourage participation in Rwanda’s capital markets. Around 400 students from the Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences, and Management attended sessions covering saving, investment strategies and financial planning, with discussion focused on practical ways for youth to engage in the expanding capital market. Presentations included CMA’s Strategic Advisor Dr. James Ndahiro on the importance of saving, RSE’s Head of Risk and Compliance David Mitali encouraging share investment and participation in annual general meetings, and RNIT’s Head of Investment and Business Development Jean Paul Ndisanze using the Ronald Read example to illustrate disciplined saving and investing. The forum also featured interactive exchanges with faculty and industry participants, including remarks from the faculty dean on disciplined decision-making and starting to invest early.
