The Central Bank of Chile has launched fieldwork for a new edition of its National Survey of Cash Use and Preferences (ENUPE), to be conducted in October and November in the country’s main cities. The survey aims to gather evidence on how people use different payment methods and their preferences for banknotes and coins. The results are intended to support the Central Bank’s monitoring and information tools on cash. The survey will be conducted in person among people aged 18 and over by interviewers from Cliodinámica, who will visit households carrying Central Bank-accredited identification; responses will be used solely for statistical purposes and handled to protect participants’ confidentiality.
