Chile's Ministry of Finance presented the 23 members of the Capital Market Consultative Council, renewing the advisory body intended to strengthen public-private dialogue on the development of the national financial system. The council had not met since early in the year and was refreshed following the expiry of the prior members’ two-year terms, as well as changes in professional commitments among some former members. Mauricio Larraín Errázuriz was appointed chair and Guillermo Larraín Ríos vice-chair, while the executive secretariat remains with Gonzalo Arriaza from the Ministry’s Capital Market Coordination team. Established in 2008, the council’s mandate is to propose reforms, identify legal or regulatory areas requiring improvement, and assess regulatory changes for the Ministry’s consideration for possible incorporation into public policy; it must meet at least twice a year and can establish permanent working groups or convene extraordinary meetings.
