The Central Bank of Peru published trade data showing non-traditional agricultural exports totalled USD 709 million in March, a 27.1% increase from a year earlier. Exported volumes rose 38% year on year. The volume increase was driven by higher shipments of fresh grapes, up 123.2% following the earlier start of last year’s campaign, and fresh mangoes, up 207% due to a recovery in production. Both products had been affected by adverse weather conditions in 2023. Over the first quarter, non-traditional agricultural exports reached USD 2,750 million, up 25.3% from USD 2,194 million in the same period a year earlier, supported by a 30.9% increase in exported volumes.
