In a speech marking OMFIF’s Gender Equality Index 2025 report, the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia highlighted that men still predominate among central bank governors, while positioning the National Bank of Serbia as an example of a central bank where women predominate. The Governor reported that women account for more than 57% of National Bank of Serbia employees and that women hold the roles of governor and vice governor. Women make up 60% of the Executive Board and close to 59% of executives overall, up eight percentage points since end-2013, alongside stated equality in average coefficient levels for women and men for both employees and managers. The speech also referenced the adoption, under the Law on Gender Equality, of a Risk Management Plan for Violation of the Principles of Gender Equality, and described remote working and flexible hours as measures supporting work–family balance.
