The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), together with the Government of India’s Department of Financial Services (DFS), held a one-day workshop in Hyderabad on the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) aimed at strengthening grievance redressal in the insurance sector. The workshop brought together DFS officials, insurers’ Grievance Redressal Officers, Sub-Appellate and Appellate Authorities, and IRDAI officials, with an emphasis on improving the quality and timeliness of grievance handling and reinforcing accountability across the ecosystem. Sessions included a DFS overview of the citizens’ grievance landscape in insurance, an open house with participants, industry presentations, and a CPGRAMS walkthrough. Discussions also focused on identifying systemic improvements, enhancing data integration between CPGRAMS and Bima Bharosa, and improving the quality and timeliness of responses to public grievances.
