The Central Bank of Argentina has changed the reporting schedule for the Survey of External Assets and Liabilities (Relevamiento de Activos y Pasivos Externos, RAyPE) by splitting filers into two groups to reduce administrative burden. Companies with external assets and liabilities below USD 10 million will move to annual submissions, while the remainder will continue to report quarterly. The change is expected to affect more than 24,000 companies, with around 1,500 larger firms still filing quarterly but under simplified requirements. The central bank framed the measure as part of a wider administrative simplification programme led by Argentina’s Ministry of Deregulation and State Transformation, while aiming to preserve timely, high-quality external sector statistics. Implementation will begin in January 2026 to allow for updates to data capture and processing systems. RAyPE data underpin the central bank’s quarterly publications on private external debt and foreign direct investment, and are shared with INDEC for compiling balance of payments and the international investment position.
