South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance discussed closer cooperation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Koo Yun-cheol and AIIB President Zou Jiayi. The talks focused on combining Korean companies’ technology with the bank’s financing capacity for development projects and expanding technical and personnel exchanges. Koo called for tangible opportunities for Korean companies and increased recruitment of Korean nationals across senior and working-level positions at the AIIB. Zou expressed an intention to strengthen technology-based infrastructure cooperation with South Korea, one of the bank’s five largest shareholders. The AIIB currently has 111 members and has approved 373 development projects totaling USD 72.4 billion.
