The Central Bank of Luxembourg published its consumer survey results showing the consumer confidence indicator was unchanged in January 2026, holding at -8. The four seasonally adjusted components moved in different directions: households revised up expectations for Luxembourg’s general economic situation over the next 12 months (to -11 from -16), while lowering expectations for their own financial situation over the next 12 months (to -1 from 2). Perceptions of households’ past financial situation remained stable at -4 and intentions regarding major purchases were also stable at -16. The headline indicator is the arithmetic average of the four component balances, which are defined as the difference between the weighted shares of consumers expecting improvement and deterioration.
