Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen coordination on handling scam complaints submitted through the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC). The arrangement enables scam victims to lodge police complaint reports via the IASC system, which are required in the process for financial service providers to return remaining victim funds, and is intended to support faster law enforcement follow-up. The agreement sets out cooperation on handling IASC complaints and police reports, capacity building and use of human resources, and the use of supporting facilities and infrastructure. OJK linked the initiative to rising online scams using bank transfers, virtual accounts, e-wallet top-ups and purchases of digital assets including crypto; IASC data show 411,055 reports received between 22 November 2024 and 28 December 2025, with reported losses of IDR 9 trillion and IDR 402.5 billion blocked or saved. OJK, as coordinator of the PASTI task force, urged scam victims to submit reports promptly via IASC with supporting evidence and to flag suspicious investment or online lending offers through OJK’s PASTI reporting channels.
