The Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has further extended the suspension of trading in derivative contracts in a set of agricultural and edible oil commodities on stock exchanges with a commodity derivatives segment, pushing the end date to 31 March 2026. The extended suspension covers paddy (non-basmati), wheat, chana, mustard seeds and its derivatives complex, soya bean and its derivatives complex, crude palm oil, and moong. SEBI first directed exchanges to suspend trading in these contracts in December 2021 through 20 December 2022, and subsequently prolonged the suspension multiple times, most recently through 31 March 2025.

The Securities & Exchange Board of India has extended the suspension of trading in derivative contracts for certain agricultural and edible oil commodities until 31 March 2026.
