The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority has extended until December 31, 2026, the deadline for private insurance funds to comply with the Unified Insurance Law and amend their bylaws under the new legislative and regulatory framework. The extension applies only to private insurance funds. Other companies and entities covered by the law have until July 11, 2027, to comply, except where separate regulatory decisions set other deadlines for specific insurance activities. The authority reported that private insurance funds made EGP 16.5 billion in new investments from January through May 2026, up about 51% from the same period a year earlier.
