The Isle of Man Treasury confirmed it will not bring forward an NHS Levy, stating that high-level options had been assessed but will not be progressed by the current administration. The levy proposal, consulted on in March 2025 following a commitment in the 2024 Budget and associated Tax Strategy, was intended to create an additional ring-fenced income stream to support future National Health Service funding and attracted more than 3,800 responses. Treasury also pointed to ongoing work with the Department of Health and Social Care and Manx Care on a specialist Financial Recovery Programme, designed to complement the existing Cost Improvement Programme and support reforms including expanded community services, and noted that government income and taxation receipts were ahead of expectations while reserves were on a recovery path following a new investment mandate. The full response to the consultation will be published in due course.
