The Taiwan Financial Services Commission published updated figures showing domestic banks’ outstanding loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) reached NT$10,338 billion at end-December 2024, up NT$71.2 billion from end-November. SME lending represented 64.69% of domestic banks’ total loans to enterprises and 68.52% of loans to private enterprises, increases of 0.14 and 0.31 percentage points respectively compared with end-November. The average non-performing loan ratio on SME loans was 0.23% in December 2024, down 0.01 percentage points from end-November.
