In an op-ed, the chairs of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee and the U.S. House Agriculture Committee set out the House’s “Crypto Week” legislative agenda, centred on advancing a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital assets. They highlighted bipartisan committee passage of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, describing it as creating clearer regulatory lanes for the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, strengthening consumer protections, closing regulatory gaps and supporting innovation in the United States. The agenda also includes consideration of a bill sponsored by House Majority Whip Tom Emmer to prevent the creation of a government-run digital dollar, and the bipartisan GENIUS Act sponsored by Sen. Bill Hagerty to establish a legislative framework for payment stablecoins. The chairs said they intend to continue advancing these measures with the aim of sending digital asset legislation to President Trump’s desk soon.
