Ireland’s Minister for Finance and the United Nations Development Programme announced the establishment of a UNDP Project Office for Sustainable Finance in Dublin, creating a global delivery platform that will host the secretariats of the Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF) and UNDP’s Financial Centres for Sustainability. Supported by EUR 7.5 million in Irish Government funding over 2025–2027, the office will operate as part of the UNDP Sustainable Finance Hub and aims to connect financial institutions, regulators and public agencies across more than 40 countries with practical tools, partnerships, and policy and regulatory insights to mobilise capital for climate, nature and sustainable development goals. Planned areas of work include nature-related investment tools, gender-responsive finance mechanisms, transition finance approaches and digital platforms, alongside country-level support and engagement through forums including the G20, APEC, FfD4 and the UN climate negotiations. The Irish Government’s support is structured over a three-year period (2025–2027).
