The Central Bank of Peru published data showing agricultural activity increased 3.2% year on year in January 2025, supported by higher potato output and strong export fruit volumes, particularly mango and grapes, alongside higher poultry meat production. Export-oriented agriculture grew 10.3%, reflecting a strong 2024–2025 mango and grape campaign supported by favourable weather conditions during the 2024 flowering stage in the coastal region; higher asparagus harvests also contributed. This was partly offset by lower blueberry production due to a base effect linked to the delayed 2023–2024 campaign following climatic anomalies. Within the sector, crop production rose 3.1% while livestock increased 3.5%, and poultry meat production grew 4.7% attributed to higher placements of chicks.
