The Central Bank of Cuba published an update on cybersecurity education initiatives aimed at children of banking-sector staff and shared a set of good practices for parents, tutors, and children to encourage safer, more responsible use of digital technologies and the internet, including in the context of electronic payments. The note describes activities delivered in July 2025 as part of the first stage of a holiday programme hosted at the National Centre for Banking Training, where children discussed cybersecurity and produced related research, drawings, stories, and dramatizations. It also references earlier work during the 2024–2025 school year through the “Bank Cybersecurity” interest circle at Banco Metropolitano with pupils from the René Fraga Moreno primary school in Old Havana. The guidance covers, for parents and tutors, password non-disclosure, online etiquette, risks of sharing personal data, household rules for internet use, device supervision, misinformation awareness, and monitoring children’s online contacts and services; for children, it emphasises not sharing personal data, avoiding unknown contacts and messages, involving parents in browsing and downloads, respectful online behaviour, and keeping passwords secret (shared only with parents or tutors).
