Bank of Indonesia has launched an Integrated MSME Entrepreneurship Transformation Program focused on job creation and strengthening the local economy, with Governor Perry Warjiyo presenting the initiative at an event in Jakarta. The program is framed as a national effort to build new entrepreneurs and strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises amid global economic uncertainty, with an emphasis on practical business models drawn from enterprises already mentored by the central bank. The program will be implemented nationwide through Bank of Indonesia's 46 representative offices in coordination with government ministries and agencies, the banking industry, associations, more than 3,000 Bank of Indonesia-assisted MSMEs and more than 1,500 empowered Islamic boarding schools. It is aligned with Indonesia's 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan and is designed as an end-to-end support model covering entrepreneurial capacity building, business assistance, product innovation, access to financing and export market expansion. Bank Indonesia said four flagship programs form part of the 2026 initiative: Cangkir Barista, Citra Nusa, Air Berkah Indonesia and Tani Berkah Indonesia. In setting out the rationale for the program, the release cited Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs data showing MSMEs account for 60.5% of GDP, 90% of labor absorption and 15% of exports.
