The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported on discussions with European Union representatives on strengthening cooperation in anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing, as well as compliance with international sanctions requirements. The meeting also covered measures to prevent the unlawful use of electronic payment instruments and strengthen customer controls. These included preventing third parties from gaining access to payment cards and electronic wallets, applying know-your-customer and enhanced due diligence checks, and deploying modern technologies to protect electronic payments. The central bank also reviewed its continuing work to strengthen compliance, risk management and the security of financial transactions in line with international requirements.
