Lithuania's Ministry of Finance announced that Vice-Minister of Finance Januš Kizenevic will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos on 19-21 January, with a programme centred on financial digitalisation, the resilience of the financial ecosystem and challenges linked to global defence spending. He is also scheduled to hold meetings with a range of international firms spanning financial markets, fintech and cybersecurity. The Davos schedule includes a panel with Estonia’s Minister of Economy and Industry and Poland’s Minister of Digital Affairs on competition under geopolitical pressure for countries on the European Union’s eastern flank, and further discussions with leaders from Poland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark and Ukraine on European stability and strategic cooperation. Other engagements cover a Polish Business House panel on how a fragmented global environment is reshaping the financial system, including how to develop and implement innovative and safe financial services, and a Bloomberg-organised leaders’ roundtable focused on defence investment, potential sources of additional funding, priority acquisitions and scaling European manufacturing capabilities. Planned meetings include Bloomberg, Revolut, NASDAQ, PKO Bank Polski, Palo Alto Networks, CVC and Goldman Sachs.
