The Central Bank of Turkmenistan has put into circulation modified polymer banknotes in denominations of 1, 5 and 10 manats and introduced a new polymer 200 manat banknote from 1 December 2025, under the motto “The International Year of Peace and Trust” and linked to the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality. The redesign emphasises enhanced security features, improved visual authenticity indicators and greater resistance to contamination, wear and damage. The overall colour and design of the 1, 5 and 10 manat banknotes have been generally preserved, with the addition of the emblem of the International Year of Peace and Trust. The 200 manat banknote shows the Arkadag Monument on the obverse and the administrative building of the Arkadag city hyakimlik on the reverse; the obverse of all newly issued notes carries the year of issue and a facsimile signature of the Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan. The central bank confirmed the banknotes must be accepted at face value nationwide for all payments, while banknotes from the 2009, 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2020 series will remain legal tender. For authenticity checks, the central bank recommends verifying at least five security features and notes that information on these features is available on its official website.
