The Bank of Greece published provisional balance of travel services data for December 2025 and for 2025, showing a wider travel services surplus in both periods on higher travel receipts alongside rising inbound traveller numbers. In December 2025, the travel services balance recorded a surplus of EUR 313.2 million, up 83.5% year on year, as receipts rose 33.0% to EUR 623.0 million while payments increased 4.0% to EUR 309.9 million. Receipts growth reflected a 49.0% increase in inbound traveller flows to 1,315.0 thousand, despite a 10.6% fall in average expenditure per trip. Net travel receipts offset 8.8% of the goods deficit and accounted for 75.2% of total net receipts from services. For 2025, the surplus reached EUR 20,255.2 million (from EUR 18,787.0 million in 2024), with receipts up by EUR 2,033.7 million to EUR 23,626.0 million and payments up by EUR 565.5 million to EUR 3,370.8 million; inbound visitors rose 5.6% to 37,981.1 thousand and average expenditure per trip increased 3.8%. Net travel receipts offset 59.9% of the goods deficit and contributed 89.0% to total net receipts from services. The next press release covering January 2026 is scheduled for 24 March 2026.
