The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina reported that Governor Jasmina Selimovic met European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde in Washington on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Spring Meetings, with discussions centred on preserving the Central Bank’s independence and continuing CBBH–ECB cooperation in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration process. Selimovic pointed to technical cooperation and knowledge exchange as supporting financial-system resilience and highlighted alignment with European standards, including modernising payment systems through the implementation of the Single Euro Payments Area and TARGET Instant Payment Settlement. The meeting also covered the role of central banks in addressing economic challenges, macroeconomic developments in Europe and inflationary pressures.
