Moldova's Ministry of Finance ran a two-day preparation exercise on 27–28 January 2025 to ready the simulation stage of the bilateral screening for Chapter 9 Financial Services in the EU accession process. The sessions convened the Chapter 9 working group, including representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank of Moldova and the National Commission for Financial Markets, alongside other participants involved in the screening. Work focused on reviewing the current legislative and institutional framework and the plan for implementing relevant EU financial services legislation, to assess alignment with the EU acquis and support interinstitutional coordination. The next milestone is the bilateral screening meetings with European Commission representatives scheduled for 3–4 February 2025 in Brussels.
