The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has launched investED for Returning Women, a training and re-entry programme aimed at helping women return to roles in the capital market after a career break. The SC framed the initiative as part of its diversity and inclusion agenda and as a response to talent needs in an increasingly sophisticated capital market. First announced in October, the programme has received over 600 applications, largely from women in their mid-30s to late-40s, including candidates with backgrounds in oil and gas, banking, finance and insurance, many citing caregiving responsibilities as the reason for their career break. Delivery is structured in two phases: REFRESH, focused on professional and personal readiness through career clinics, personalised guidance and networking, and RESKILL, focused on updated technical and market competencies with structured training, industry exposure and follow-up support during the first six months of employment. Participants who complete both phases receive an RM2,000 incentive and a certificate, with the SC facilitating potential job placements through partner companies; supporting organisations include the 30% Club Malaysia, LeadWomen Sdn Bhd, Securities Industry Development Corporation, PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia Holdings Sdn Bhd and Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad.
