The National Bank of Moldova reported that its first deputy governor, Petru Rotaru, participated in the opening ceremony of the new academic year at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) and used the event to highlight the central bank’s long-standing cooperation with the university. Rotaru noted that almost half of the central bank’s employees are ASEM graduates and pointed to ongoing joint projects, including the “Modern Finance School” programme for students and master’s candidates, which draws on practical input from specialists from European central banks, particularly the National Bank of Romania. The National Bank of Moldova and ASEM reaffirmed that their cooperation is grounded in a partnership agreement signed seven years ago, aimed at strengthening professional training for young economists and supporting economic literacy through exchanges of knowledge, experience, and good practices.
