The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group has published second-edition mappings under its VSME Ecosystem to support use of the future Voluntary Standard and the VSME Recommendation by small and medium-sized enterprises. The release consists of two reports: one mapping 58 digital tools and another mapping 108 reporting platforms and initiatives for SMEs. Both are designed to help users identify available reporting support and compare shortlisted solutions against predefined criteria. The digital tools report covers tools such as greenhouse gas calculators and geolocation tools, and includes a comparative analysis of shortlisted greenhouse gas calculators. EFRAG said this shortlist is intended to help SMEs identify tools for reporting greenhouse gas emissions based on VSME, and it also identifies a national geolocalisation and climate risk tool. The platforms and initiatives report provides an overview of 108 SME reporting platforms and compares shortlisted entries that met predefined criteria and completed a self-assessment grid to test VSME alignment. EFRAG noted that it has not verified the information submitted, assessed the quality of the tools or platforms, or determined compliance with VSME or the European Sustainability Reporting Standards, so inclusion does not constitute endorsement, accreditation or validation. The mappings are available in the VSME section of EFRAG's Knowledge Hub. EFRAG positioned the release as part of the rollout of the VSME Ecosystem following its technical advice to the European Commission, which is expected under Omnibus I to adopt a delegated act for voluntary sustainability reporting standards for undertakings with fewer than 1,000 employees.
