Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and Finance has outlined progress on digitisation and artificial intelligence across its functions, reporting that four priority digital projects have been implemented, an AI working group has been established, AI-based support and analytical tools have been piloted, and a broader business process audit and redesign project has begun. The completed digital projects cover subsidy administration, higher education workforce planning, supervisory board governance and open budget processes. The Subsidiya.idm.uz system now accepts applications through public service centres and the unified state services portal for state-budget subsidies covering 25 percent of the down payment on refinanced mortgage loans for teachers with the highest qualification category, runs applications through automated scoring without human involvement, and supports automatic payments through subsidyplatform.mf.uz based on participating commercial banks' requests. E-Grant was developed to form the state order for higher-education personnel through an electronic platform that gathers and processes data and identifies employers' demand for graduates. E-Kuzatuv kengashi digitises all supervisory board processes at large state enterprises where the ministry is a shareholder. Open Budget has added a dedicated page and public list for projects financed on the initiative of deputies, introduced partnership-based co-financing in participatory budgeting, and launched a database containing information on citizens who took part in voting. For AI, the ministry created a working group with specialist roles including AI Project Manager, AI Engineer, MLOps specialist, Network Administrator and System Administrator. An AI assistant trained on legislation and open data has been piloted on the Open Budget portal to handle incoming inquiries and advise users of ministry information systems, while the G'azna AI chatbot module, trained on treasury and public procurement rules, has been tested in the UzASBO software suite. The IM AI analytical system at ai.imv.uz has also been developed and piloted to analyse regional macroeconomic and enterprise-level indicators, identify growth points and provide forecasts and recommendations. Separately, the ministry has started a project to audit economy-related functions, optimise and reengineer processes and assess automation opportunities, with interviews already held across about 15 structural units and system organisations to identify redundant steps and overlapping functions and prepare digitisation proposals.
