The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan published an update on a financial literacy forum held at Turan University in Almaty with the support of the Fingramota.kz project, focused on financial fraud, countering dropper activity, personal finance and informed investing. The programme featured contributions from the university leadership, representatives of the Almaty Police Department’s cybercrime unit and Alatau City Bank security specialists, covering fraud typologies, consequences including criminal liability, and methods to protect against digital fraud. Participants also received practical guidance on personal budgeting and financial planning, how the investment sector works, and the importance of verifying investment information and counterparties. The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange’s Issuer and Exchange Member Monitoring Department outlined market and exchange operating principles and highlighted risks for novice investors, while an academic session addressed the role of financial psychology in setting goals and priorities. The event ended with a financial quiz, and 12 student video submissions are expected to be published on Fingramota.kz social media pages.
