Moldova's National Commission for Financial Markets issued a warning about deceptive online and social-media advertising that misuses the names and images of public figures and imitates the visual identity of media outlets to promote purported investment opportunities via fraudulent platforms. The Commission flagged examples including “Harmony Bitspire” and “Nexura AI”, stating the messages are false and constitute attempted online fraud. The alert describes schemes that combine misleading marketing and psychological pressure to induce people to transfer money or disclose personal and financial data. It highlights common warning signs such as hard-to-verify information about the platform, promises of guaranteed or unrealistic returns, and the absence of authorisation or supervision by a competent authority, alongside tactics including fabricated “government programmes”, time-limited offers and urgent payment prompts, claims tied to artificial intelligence, and the use of forged content and cloned websites. The Commission advises the public to verify the authenticity of platforms and entities, avoid sharing banking details or confirmation codes, refrain from sending funds without rigorous checks, and report suspected frauds to the Commission and/or the police.
