The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) held a conference for primary school teachers to present Desitudo, an educational board game designed to teach financial literacy through play, and announced plans to donate the game to all primary schools in Croatia by the end of the year. The game was originally created by primary school pupils, developed with Hanfa’s support, and approved by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth as suitable educational material for primary schools. The event included a panel on how financial literacy can be embedded in classroom practice, covering approaches such as elective courses, dedicated projects, extracurricular activities, and competitions, and highlighting the role of institutional support and teacher training. Hanfa also shared survey results indicating strong teacher interest in financial literacy and broad support for its inclusion in the curriculum, while noting that pupils generally show good age-appropriate knowledge but need further guidance on more complex topics such as saving, investing, and retirement. Hanfa reported that more than 150 Desitudo games have already been distributed to primary schools. Hanfa plans to complete the nationwide donation of Desitudo to all Croatian primary schools by the end of the year.
