Senator Elizabeth Warren, Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, wrote to X CEO Linda Yaccarino seeking the recovery of Bill Pulte’s deleted social media posts ahead of his nomination hearing to lead the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Committee staff reviewing Pulte’s public X account and archived material on the Wayback Machine found that “virtually all” of his tweets appeared to be missing. The letter requests all of Pulte’s activity on the platform since he created his account in 2009, citing the Committee’s need to assess his policy positions, temperament, and fitness for a role overseeing companies that support USD 8.1 trillion in mortgage financing. Warren asked X to provide the requested material no later than 3 March 2025.
