The discussion also covered cooperation on strengthening women’s leadership in the financial sector. Dragu described SEPA participation as a practical step toward European integration and pointed to the value of drawing on Montenegro’s experience and best practices. The update also highlighted that both central banks are led by women for the first time, with Dragu and Radović appointed in December 2023, and referenced Moldova’s ranking of seventh out of 148 countries in the Global Gender Gap Index, up from thirteenth in 2024 and nineteenth in 2023.
