The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) reported its participation in the opening of the New Year 2026 road accident prevention and reduction command centre, positioning insurance as a risk-management tool during peak holiday travel. The OIC secretary-general instructed OIC offices nationwide to coordinate closely with provincial command centres and partner agencies during the seven-day high-risk period from 31 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, including providing round-the-clock insurance guidance. As part of its public campaign, the OIC worked with the insurance industry to offer low-cost microinsurance products. The Aun Jai cross-year personal accident policy starts at a THB 10 premium with THB 100,000 accidental death cover, with an alternative THB 20 premium option offering cover up to THB 250,000, while the Aun Jai home fire policy has a THB 10 premium with residential fire cover up to THB 30,000; each policy provides 30 days of coverage. These policies can be purchased or claimed through participating insurers and operators between 15 December 2025 and 15 March 2026.
