The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) participated in the OECD Corporate Governance Committee’s 51st meeting in Paris, with CNV Chair Roberto E. Silva joining a panel discussion on the Revised Draft Guidelines for Corporate Bond Issuers and wider corporate governance and sustainability developments. The session on the draft bond-issuer guidelines reviewed a paper compiling feedback from consultations with the Committee’s roundtables in Asia and Latin America and opened discussion among delegates. Silva highlighted the role of cooperation between regulators and international institutions and linked CNV engagement to Argentina’s OECD accession process and the adoption of OECD-promoted standards. CNV also framed the revision of the guidelines as relevant to Argentina’s interest in developing frameworks that promote institutional investor stewardship in the governance of listed companies. Other panels addressed institutional investor engagement and oversight, the evolving role of stock exchanges, dual-class share structures and regulatory flexibility, artificial intelligence in corporate governance, and state-owned enterprises and privatisations.
