The Palestine Capital Market Authority held a specialised workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation, framed as a practical step in its digital strategy to build institutional readiness and support more efficient and transparent capital markets. The session, titled “Artificial Intelligence: The Power of Data and the Limits of Trust,” convened the Palestine Exchange, the Palestine Depository and Transfer Center, securities firms, listed companies, specialised journalists, and PCMA staff. The agenda covered core AI concepts and applications in financial markets, including operational efficiency, data analytics and investment decision-making, alongside ethical and regulatory challenges associated with AI use. Participants also discussed the current state of digital transformation in Palestine and how AI could strengthen the non-banking financial sector by improving transparency, reducing risks and raising the quality of financial services. PCMA also applied AI tools across the event’s organisation, including invitation design and personalisation, registration and attendance confirmation, and content management. The workshop formed part of PCMA’s World Investor Week 2025 programme, the eighth consecutive year the campaign has been held in Palestine under the International Organization of Securities Commissions initiative, which involves securities regulators and stock exchanges from more than 136 countries.
